One Direction spend the day with Vogue

One Direction catch up with Vogue to talk about female attention and their new album.

“Aaah! One Direction!” is the usual response you get when someone is introduced to the boy band (particularly hormonal young girls), however, Vogue admit that photographer Patrick Demarchelier was unfazed by them. The same can’t be said by most of the people population – even those old enough to know better (though we know they’re not opposed to older women, which doesn’t help).

Model Edie Campbell met up with the boys for the gorgeous photo shoot and interview in the December issue of the fashion bible.

Of course, the most well-known – and fancied – member of the band is Harry Styles who, if rumours in the press are to be believed, has a different female companion every week. Speaking about his status as a heart-throb, he said: “You’re never going to get used to walking into a room and have people screaming at you.”

“There’s a lot of things that come with the life you could get lost in,” he added. “But you have to let it be what it is. I’ve learnt not to take everything too seriously.”

The boys also talked about the difference between their first and second albums. “We want to gradually get more ‘live’ sounding,” said Harry.

“We did a lot of writing in the studio,” added Niall. “And I play the guitar, so I play on a lot of the tracks on the album.”

Vogue have a great quote from Alexa Chung, which we think sums up the 1D boys perfectly: “They’re no Beatles, obviously, but it’s nice to see a boy band dress well for a change. They remind me of a box of puppies at Christmas – each one more adorable than the next.”
