Mila Kunis tells Marie Claire how her life has changed

Mila Kunis chats to Marie Claire about her rise in fame.

Mila Kunis has come a long way since playing Jackie on That ‘70s Show, but it’s been a hard slog to get to where she is today.

Talking to Marie Claire back in the April issue, she confessed that when the TV show finished, she tried too hard not to be pigeon-holed as a TV actress: “When ’70s ended I went on a mission to prove everybody wrong. I read for movies I would never do. I auditioned for everything, just to show I could do it. I needed to prove I was capable of doing things other than – forget comedy – other than a TV show.”

After starring alongside Natalie Portman in Black Swan, Kunis’ career lit up and not only was she in high demand but she was more recognisable. “To say my life hasn’t changed would be a lie,” she said. “It has changed, I don’t really know how. I can’t complain, nor am I complaining, but I can’t leave my house as freely as I used to. But I’ve also travelled a lot for work, so that’s changed. I have been very lucky.”

We don’t think there’s any danger of Kunis turning into a workaholic. She may seem like a tough cookie but she knows when it’s time to take a break. “I don’t think I can do this three-movies-a-year thing. It’s too much,” she told Marie Claire. “There comes a point in your life where you want to be…home. I want to explore other parts of this industry to see what aspects of it I can get myself into, so that I can…work out of home maybe? Like producing. Then I can have, like, a life, in one location.”
