Lady Gaga sparks outrage over Vogue snaps

Anyone with a Vogue magazine subscription can find out about Lady Gaga sparking yet more outrage, this time for posing naked covered only in raw meat for the front cover shoot for the Japanese edition of the mag.

Outrageous star Lady Gaga probably leaves most people with a Vogue magazine subscription aghast a lot of the time.

The Poker Face star has yet again managed to court controversy, this time for her front cover photoshoot for the Japanese edition of Vogue magazine.

In the photo, which was snapped by Terry Richardson, she's pictured completely naked, with her modesty covered by raw meat.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released a statement which said: "No matter how beautifully it is presented, flesh from a tortured animal is flesh from a tortured animal. Meat represents bloody violence and suffering, so if that's the look they were going for - they achieved it."

In an interview with the Daily News, PETA president Ingrid Newkirk said that Lady Gaga's job is to "do outlandish things".

She added: "This certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body."

Lady Gaga is currently on tour in the US. She plays a gig in Philadelphia on September 14th.
