The Latina beauty, who is currently sitting on the American Idol judging panel, along with Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, told the publication how she combats negative thoughts.
J-Lo told Cosmopolitan magazine she tells herself she's "amazing" to boost her confidence.
But she added: "It's easy to let negative stuff get to you. I'm no different to anybody else."
She explained: "If I'm performing for 200,000 people and there's one person near the front row who's not enjoying themselves, it'll be that one person who's going to bother me."
Jen said it is vital to always remember that you are a special person and to ensure you let good feelings overpower the "few negative ones".
The Golden Globe-nominated singer-turned-actress has been so impressed with some of the contestants on this season's American Idol that she has frequently been brought to tears on the award-winning TV show.
