Fashion’s finest gathered together at Claridge’s last night to celebrate Bazaar’s Women of the Year Awards 2011, those of you with a Harper’s Bazaar magazine subscription will no doubt already know.
The dress code was oh-so-stylish black and gold and in attendance were the fashion A-list likes of Giles Deacon, Natalie Massenet, Yasmin Le Bon, Matthew Williamson, Daisy Lowe and Lily Cole as well as musicians Duran Duran, Florence Welch, Jessie J and even Oscar-winning actress Dame Judi Dench. Harper’s Bazaar celebrate the best females in the business every year and last night’s bash certainly lived up to the previous years.
Big winners of the night were creative director of Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton who won the Designer of the Year Award (not surprising as she designed the most famous dress of the year - Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, Tom Ford who won the award for Man in a Woman’s World and Jessie J (who completely ignored the dress code and decided to wear a bright purple jumpsuit... but we think she got away with it!) who won Breakthrough of the Year.
See the full list of winners below: - Role Model of the Year: Helena Bonham Carter - Breakthrough of the Year: Jessie J - Lifetime achievement: Dame Judi Dench - Businesswoman of the Year: Tamara Mellon - Man in a Woman’s World: Tom Ford - Visionary of the Year: Tracy Emin - International Woman of Influence: Arianna Huffington - Man of the Year: Arki Busson - Inspiration of the Year: Camila Batmanghelidjh
