Girls star Allison Williams chats to Company

Company head to New York to catch up with the cast of Girls and speak to Allison Williams.

Have you been watching Girls? Well if you haven’t, you really should because it’s hilarious and is creating huge waves both in America and over here.

If you have a Company magazine subscription you’ll see that this month’s cover star is Allison Williams who plays Marnie in the series, best friend of the protagonist Hannah (who is played by the show’s creator Lena Dunham).

Speaking to the magazine, Williams says that she’s so happy she got the part. “I would still be excited about this show is I wasn’t in it,” she says. “Angry that I wasn’t in it, yes – it would have haunted me – but definitely still watching.”

The show has been a massive success, both commercially and critically and Williams believes it’s down to how relatable the script it. “Lena is devastatingly honest and realistic, it gave everyone involved a feeling that is was something special.”

She adds: “There is nothing alienating or too hipster about it. We’re not dating handsome boys, they’re weird. We don’t have jobs you dream about, in fact, not all of us have jobs. It feels accessible.”
