Fashionistas who have an InStyle magazine subscription can read all about why red lipstick is really hot.
Nicolas Degennes, artistic director at Givenchy, told the publication: "Red lips convey life [and] symbolise the story of beauty."
He added, when talking to InStyle magazine, that red lippy also illustrates energy and passion.
The publication said the main thing standing in the way of women and a luscious red pout is often a fear that the colour does not suit her.
However, it is all about finding the right shade to complement your skin tone and looks, InStyle magazine suggested.
"Red represents a unique colour for each woman and each woman is unique," Degennes told the publication.
Recently, a study by boffins at the University of Manchester revealed that women who wear red lippy manage to maintain the gaze of the opposite sex for longer than those who haven't donned anything on their pout.
