Cosmopolitan magazine has picked up on claims that X Factor judge and solo artist Cheryl Cole has contracted malaria.
The Girls Aloud star recently took a trip to Tanzania in east Africa with hunky dancer Derek Hough.
However, the Fight For This Love singer was examined by doctors after fainting at a recent photo shoot.
A source told the Sun that the 27-year-old was taking the correct medication during her trip, but has been suffering from stomach pains since her return.
"She'd spent 48 hours in bed trying to sleep off what she thought was a stomach bug," the insider said.
"She was extremely weak, sweating and drifting in and out of consciousness."
Doctors reportedly confirmed that it was malaria and the star has been told to rest and cease filming for the X Factor for the time being.
Meanwhile, Cheryl's ex husband Ashley is said to be dating a stripper who bears a resemblance to the singer.
