To say there has been a lot splashed across the media of late about Nigella Lawson would be an understatement. It started when she and husband Charles Saatchi were papped whilst, what looked like to the naked eye, he throttled her over dinner.
Of course, that then led to a publicised divorce, which Vanity Fair covers in their February issue- as well as a trial over the suspected fraudulent behavior of the couple’s assistants. Then the drug allegations hit…
Going back to the pictures that were taken of the couple in June 2013, paparazzo ‘Jean-Paul’ describes what he saw to the magazine. “I saw her lurch violently backwards. I thought Charles was demonstrating something. It lasted about 30 seconds. Then he did it a second time, and it was so violent, with such force that her head snapped backwards… I was taking pictures the whole time.”
Saatchi’s story (according to a friend) is that Nigella was “unable to focus”. Saatchi told the court when queued: “I was not gripping, strangling, or throttling her. I was holding her head by the neck to make her focus. Can we be clear?...Was it about her drug use? No.”
