Time Out magazine to launch online TV Guide

Want to know what's on TV? Well Time Out are developing a whole new way to find out.

If you have a Time Out magazine subscription, then you might be interested to hear about a whole new venture Time Out are looking into.

The company behind London’s most popular entertainment magazine have partnered with Red Bee Media and are planning to launch the Time Out TV guide which will be great for online platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook.

The Time Out TV guide will allow users to “like” their favourite TV programmes and check out what their friends are into too, as well as share, recommend and “favourite” shows. So rather than chatting about what happened in your favourite TV in the office the next day, you can chat about it over Facebook straight away.

Time Out magazine caused a stir when it went against the restrictions on programme information, held by the Radio Times and TV Times, by publishing an "unauthorised" TV listings to coincide with the launch of Channel 4 back in November 1982.

After another nine years the TV listings information was eventually made available to all the press by the Conservative Government in 1991, and has been in many weekly magazines and national newspapers ever since.

No set date has been announced for the Launch but those of us with a Time Out magazine will keep our eyes peeled.
