The Dark Knight Rises released today

Well today is the day that Batman fans have been eagerly anticipating for months - if not years! Christopher Nolan's final film in his Batman trilogy has finally been released - as those of you with a Batman: The Brave and the Bold magazine subscription will already know.

The film has an all-star cast, with Christian Bale reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman... our arm gets tired just listing the names.

The movie's European premiere was held in Leicester Square on Wednesday evening - and Prince Harry turned up to watch! You know you're on to a winner if you've got royalty turning up to your premiere.

Much like the recent The Amazing Spider-Man, Nolan's films were a re-vamp of a comic book hero from a different angle to films that had only been released a few years previously - with huge success. Fans have been impressed with Bale's portrayal of Batman and Nolan's darker take on the story.

The film couldn't have been released at a better time - Comic-Con has just been held in the USA and comic book fans are eager for more.

So head to your local cinema this weekend and check The Dark Knight Rises out - we know we will be!
