Strictly Come Dancing host Bruce Forsyth is knighted

Nice to see her, to see her nice! We bet Strictly Come Dancing’s Brucey was very pleased to see the Queen as he received his knighthood today.

After 70 years in showbiz, today was the day that 83-year-old Bruce Forsyth was rewarded for his services to entertainment by being given a knighthood by the Queen.

Brucey, as he is affectionately known, is currently most famous for presenting Saturday night television favourite Strictly Come Dancing – which those of you with a TV Times magazine subscription will of course already know – but he’s been on screen for years, on programmes such as The Generation Game, Bruce’s Price Is Right and Play Your Cards Right.

Bruce was honoured to receive his knighthood and despite being almost 20 years over the average age of retirement, he has no plans to retire.

"Entertaining - it's been the only thing I've ever wanted to do and I've done it for many, many years. Who feels like quitting? I want to go on," he said.

If you want to see more of Bruce on your screens, make sure you check him out every Saturday and Sunday night on Strictly Come Dancing – and of course you can find all times and interviews with the dancers and celebs in your TV Times magazine subscription.
