Spice Girls to perform at Olympics closing ceremony

Tell you what we want, what we really, really want - is for the Olympics Closing ceremony to hurry and get here because the line-up sounds AMAZING, as we're sure those of you with an NME magazine subscription already know.

There will reportedly be performances from One Direction, The Who, Take That, Jessie J, George Michael and... the Spice Girls! The girls have been spending more time together recently as they announced the arrival of their West End musical Viva Forever and Victoria Beckham recently tweeted a picture of a very sparkly looking microphone, hinting at a performance.

The band have actually been spotted rehearsing, so there's not much danger of us being disappointed to find that it was all just a rumour.

We're excited to see so much British talent all up on one stage and if it's anything like the Opening Ceremony, it will definitely be worth tuning into if you aren't lucky enough to actually be going to watch it.
