Shaun the Sheep voted favourite character in Radio Times poll…

Nation's favourite BBC character announced in recent Radio Times poll as Shaun the Sheep.

Those of you with a subscription to Radio Times will already know that the magazine recently asked readers to vote for their favourite BBC Children's TV character and the results are in!

With Postman Pat and Sooty and Sweep strong contenders in second and third place, Shaun the Sheep has been awarded the honourable first place slot. Shaun had his first appearance in the Oscar-winning Wallace & Gromit adventure ‘A Close Shave’ before landing his very own spin off show in 2007.

Richard Starzak, creator of the Shaun The Sheep television show, said: ‘I’m chuffed, flattered and delighted… Many BBC animated characters were a big and important part of my childhood. It’s amazing to think Shaun will be part of so many people’s happy memories.’
