Queens Of The Stone Age 'to record new album'

Music fans with an NME magazine subscription will be able to read all about Queens Of The Stone Age recording a new album in 2011.

The band are set to begin work on the offering in January. It will be a follow-up to their 2007 album Era Vulgaris and keyboard player Dean Fertita said they are "ready to go" with the recording.

NME magazine quotes Fertita telling Billboard: "We've got so many ideas started already; I guess we'll see what turns out to be everybody's favourite."

He added: "It's very much still [Josh Homme's] band, but I think all of us really feel like we've found our space in it and can contribute to it as well."

Hard rock band Queens Of The Stone Age were formed in 1997 and they comprise Homme, who founded the group, Troy Van Leeuwen on guitar, Joey Castillo on drums, Michael Shuman on bass guitar and Fertita.
