Jenna-Louise Coleman talks Doctor Who

Jenna-Louise Coleman talks to Radio Times about Doctor Who fan mail and enjoying the ride.

If you’re a big fan of Doctor Who then we’re sure you tuned in to see the series finale over the weekend – and hopefully steered clear of any spoilers from our friends across the pond after they accidentally received the full DVD box sets ahead of schedule.

The Doctor’s latest sidekick Clara seems to have made a great impact, after all, Amy Pond was quite a hard act to follow. Actress Jenna-Louise Coleman spoke to Radio Times magazine about her part in the cult series.

She ‘s well aware of the loyal Doctor Who fan base and explains that sometimes it can get a little odd... "I've been sent emails with pictures of the Clara doll... that isn't completely normal, is it?” she says. "People do come up to me who are really engaged with the show and just want to chat. Yesterday a little boy came up to me and said, 'Alright, souffle girl?' which put a smile on my face, so it's not obtrusive."

It hasn’t put her off at all and she seems to be very happy in her new role. "Matt [Smith] warned me that there's nothing that can prepare you for [joining the show]. All I can do is enjoy it. I've noticed some changes - nothing huge. I have a really cool job and get to do these crazy things and you do have so many pinch me moments."
