Inside The Human Body presenter discusses controversial programme

People with a Radio Times magazine subscription can read Inside The Human Body presenter Michael Mosley's views on the series.

Anyone with a Radio Times magazine subscription who is interested in the controversy surrounding an upcoming episode of Inside The Human Body can read presenter Michael Mosley's views.

The show has attracted lots of attention in recent weeks due to its decision to show the moment a dying man takes his final breath.

Gerard, 84, who had lung cancer, will be shown dying surrounded by his friends and family at home in an episode to be aired next month.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Mosley said it is important not to "shy away" from death.

"I know that there are those who feel that showing a human death on television is wrong, whatever the circumstances. Although I respect this point of view I think there is a case to be made for filming a peaceful, natural death - a view shared by many who work closely with the dying," he continued.

Inside The Human Body is a new series which follows the various stages of the human body, from conception to death.

The first episode will air on Thursday May 5th. The episode featuring Gerard will be shown on May 12th.
