If you’ve just seen action/adventure movie Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Peter Sarsgaard, and you couldn’t get enough of it, then those of you who have a magazine subscription to DC Universe Presents will be pleased to see that the most recent issue is a Green Lantern special.
The film was based on the original comic strips, which started back in the 1940s. Whilst various characters have assumed the role of the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan is the most notable and is featured in the current film, played by Ryan Reynolds.
Whilst the Green Lantern may not be as well-known as the likes of Superman, Batman and Spiderman, he’s still a favourite amongst avid comic book fans and the movie will bring with it a whole new generation of fans.
It’s definitely a film that will be popular with both men and women - everyone knows that men like to see other men fighting and saving the world whilst women like to see men who look like Ryan Reynolds.

With superhero movies making a real comeback – in previous years we’ve seen new Superman, Spiderman, Batman, X-Men movies and the Green Hornet (not to be confused with The Green Lantern, thanks Obama) is due to be released later this year – it seems that men in tights are pretty fashionable.
