Wikileaks Julian Assange granted bail

Anyone with a Wired magazine subscription, can read how Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been bailed in London.

Tech lovers with a Wired magazine subscription can read how Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been released on bail in London.

Assange has been in jail since he was arrested earlier this month over rape allegations in Sweden, reports Wired magazine.

He's currently fighting extradition to the Scandinavian country and he denies the charges he faces there.

On November 28th, Assange's site Wikileaks began publishing more than 250,000 leaked US embassy cables, which is reportedly the largest number of confidential documents to ever be released into the public domain.

Under the figurehead's bail agreement, a £240,000 surety has been posted by a restaurant designer and one of Assange's friends.

He has been made to give up his passport and wear an electronic tag, as part of the bail arrangements, reports Wired magazine.

Today (December 16th), Assange has to reappear in court as prosecutors in the UK have appealed against the bail, saying he is a "high flight risk".
