T-Mobile won't cut data download limits of current customers

Computer Active magazine subscription holders can read how T-Mobile won't be enforcing its data cap on current customers.

T-Mobile customers who have a Computer Active magazine subscription will be pleased to know the mobile phone and broadband provider will not be cutting the data download limits of existing customers.

The operator said the cap on mobile internet data usage will only affect new customers, following protests over the reduction.

It previously said it would be capping data usage at 500mb for all its customers, reports Computer Active magazine.

However, following pressure from users, some of whom had signed up to 'unlimited usage' tariffs, T-Mobile said the cap would only affect new subscribers.

T-Mobile said: "There will be no change to the data packages for existing customers for the duration of their contract and we apologise for any confusion caused," reports Computer Active magazine.

According to the telecoms operator, T-Mobile, which recently merged with Orange UK, boasts more customers than any other network in the UK.

Last year, it won the Best Mobile Broadband accolade from the Mobile Industry Awards, as well as the HTC Desire netting the Gadget of the Week award from Time Out.
