When you’re downloading a new game for your Playstation, obviously you’re desperate to play it – why else would you be downloading it after all?
But despite advances in technology that make downloading quicker than ever (remember downloading through dial-up? Ha!), they’re huge files that can take a while. But on the Playstation 4 you can access to first part of the game while you wait for the rest to download, so you don’t have to sit there twiddling your thumbs!
Sony Team leader Neil Brown told Official Playstation about all of the great new features one the new console, including having access to your whole game library anywhere and Play As You Download.
"You can visit your friend's house, you can log into your account and play any game from your digital library, which is good," he said. "But how useful is that if it takes half a day to download the game you want to play? With Play As You Download you get much quicker access to at least the first section of the game so you can start playing quicker. So this makes a digital library a practical option in the real world."
