National Geographic on how the brain really works

National Geographic take a look at the new science of our brains.

Brains – we all have one, yet they are a complete mystery to the majority of us. It’s crazy to think that everything we do is because a message was sent along that organ, telling a body part to react.

In the February issue of National Geographic, they take an in-depth look at what we know about the brain so far, and the technologies that can teach us even more.

We were intrigued to hear that a study in California showed that images of Jennifer Aniston quite literally strike a nerve in our brains which isn’t normally active. Follow-up studies found a similar reaction to images of Halle Berry – even when she was dressed as Catwoman. Maybe this explains our obsession with celebrities?
