How It Works magazine interviews Sir David Attenborough

Sir David Attenborough talks to How It Works about his new series and the beauty of wild animals.

If you have a How It Works magazine subscription then we’re sure you must have an inquisitive mind when it comes to science and nature. Of course, that’s how we figure out how it DOES work.

One person who we think has a pretty good clue about nature at the very least is David Attenborough, so we were excited to discover that the How It Works team had interviewed him.

The naturalist discusses his new show, Natural Curiosities and what it’s like having worked with animals for most of his life.

Speaking about the various different formats of nature series;, he says: “One of them is the history of how human beings came to an understanding about an animal, the myths surrounding them, putting them into a historical context – how they were discovered, what we have learned about them and how they have evolved. This is the approach we have taken with Natural Curiosities and it’s very exciting, as it’s a brand-new [format].”

And could he pick out the most extraordinary animal he’s ever come across? “I really don’t know,” he says. “I mean, there are so many absolutely astounding things and the more you know about them the more astounding they get. So I don’t think I could possibly say a particular one… I don’t know how I’d even start.”
