If you have a Computer Arts magazine subscription you’ll have received their redesign issue at the beginning of April, featuring an amazing cover created by Celloglas.
Not only does the magazine now feature a new logo and slogan “Design Matters” but the cover seemed to go down a treat with readers, as it featured a futuristic print but also red foil with an emboss, velvet varnish and spot gloss UV and two different types of graining. We’re not printers so we can’t say we know exactly what that means, but we think it sounds awesome!
The process behind creating the cover is so complex that they even made a video to show readers how it was done.
The magazine’s art editor Jo Gulliver said: “The production video has been really popular with our readers, as it gives them a unique chance to see how the cover was made to look and feel as it does.”
She added: “We can’t believe how well our readers have taken to the redesign, and the print finishes have definitely helped to make this issue stand out from the crowd”.
