Basketball players sued over endorsement of energy bracelet

Wired magazine subscription holders can read about some US basketball players being sued due to product endorsement.

If you've got a Wired magazine subscription, you can read how two US basketball stars are being sued for their endorsement of a energy bracelet.

The NBA stars have reportedly been named in a lawsuit, which has been filed against Power Balance, for making sham science claims.

According to the suit, the bracelet was said to help athletes of all levels boost their "strength, balance and flexibility", reports Wired magazine.

Boston player Shaquille O'Neal, who has been playing pro for 18 years, and Los Angeles star Lamar Odom, who has been a professional in the sport for around 11 years, wear the product in front of the screens and their fans, which is why action is being taken to stop them.

Keith Kato, president of Power Balance, said: "Our company is absolutely committed to further evaluating the technology behind its products' performance so that we can continue to offer products that enhance people's lifestyle," reports Wired magazine.
