"I think Cheryl should put in more effort with Rebecca," he told Heat magazine. "You can tell that Cher is Cheryl's favourite."
He claimed there's no "likeability' in Cher and said she believes her own hype too much "which is a big mistake".
"I couldn't work with Cher, she thinks she's going to be an overnight success," Louis added.
"Because she listens to American R&B she's picked up all these weird musical things and makes funny faces."
The judge said Cher needs to "learn to be nice to everybody".
It seems Louis' not been heeding his own advice lately though, as he was spotted arguing with Cheryl after Sunday night's contentious showdown where Aiden Grimshaw lost out to serial bottom-twoer Katie Waissel.
