The latest Uncut magazine issue comes with a free Rip This Joint CD featuring a range of top artists.
Among the acts to be included on the disc, compiled by editor Allan Jones, is Bloodkin, who only made it on thanks to an Uncut reader.
"Stevie [Dal] wrote to me after reading a review I wrote on uncut.co.uk last December of a Club Uncut show at the Borderline headlined by Deer Tick ... wondering if I'd heard their new album, Baby, They Told Us We Would Rise Again," Mr Jones revealed.
While he had not heard of the band at the time, the editor admits to having become a massive fan and thanked Mr Dal for the recommendation.
Other acts on the CD include Patterson Hood, Jason Isbell, Chuck Prophet and Ian Hunter, as well as Dan Baird, who has formed a new band in Homemade Sin.
Meanwhile in other music news, it has been revealed that the Beastie Boys are set to release their new album later this year thanks to the success of Adam Yauch's cancer treatment.
