X Factor fans with a Look magazine subscription can read an interview with the stylist on the show, Grace Woodward.
The show insider, who's rumoured to be dating hopeful Matt Cardle, said she believes the girls on the programme are envious of Rebecca Ferguson.
"Rebecca isn't envious of any of the other girls, but I think they might be envious of her – not because she has special treatment, but because she wears things so well.
"She was the first to break out a big diva dress, and then the others wanted to do the same," Grace told Look magazine.
Grace hasn't been denying or confirming her alleged relationship with Matt since news broke last week.
The stylist said she and him are "very, very close" but did not say how intimate she implied the sentence to be.
Matt is currently the favourite to win The X Factor, followed by boyband One Direction and Rebecca Ferguson.
