Steve Carell admits he is no masterchef

The Office actor and comedian Steve Carell has admitted he and his wife watch TV cookery shows in the hope they might glean improved culinary skills.

Comedy actor Steve Carell, famous for his role as Michael Scott in America's version of The Office, has admitted he lacks quality cooking skills.

Movie buffs with a Total Film magazine subscription can enjoy an interview with the actor where he admits he and his wife Nancy love to watch cooking shows on TV but are disappointed the cooking skills never rub off on them.

The 47 year old actor said he and his wife are "pretty bad" at cooking.

Recalling one particular dinner party, Carell claims that things always end badly when he and Nancy have guests round for dinner.

Carell is gracing the silver screen once again this summer alongside another comedy actor, Paul Rudd, as Dinner for Schmucks hits cinemas.

The film portrays a bunch of executives invited to bring the worst people they can find to a dinner party. Carell plays Barry, one of the outcasts taken for dinner by executive Tim (Rudd).
