This month's Cosmopolitan cover star has a lot to live up to considering that last month's cover star has just won Great Britain a gold medal (that's Jessica Ennis, if you didn't know!), but Nicole Scherzinger is about to hit the big time in the UK too as she becomes a permanent judge on the X Factor which starts this summer!
She was praised when she filled in as a guest judge in previous series' and judged the first series of X Factor USA, so she's more than qualified for the role. Speaking to Cosmo, it's apparent that her role as judge/mentor means a lot to her.
"I got my start on a show like this," she says. "I stood in line at 4am for the auditions so I definitely relate to everybody there. I loved coming to the UK last time and I was like, I hope they still like me." And unlike the judge dramas of last year, she doesn't seem likely to get swept up in any rivalry with her fellow female judge, Tulisa. "She's a fun and cool chick. We're all on the same team together. I love her a lot."
The singer also opens up about her relationship with Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton and how they make it work despite having to spend so much time apart. "We're there for one another even though we have long, enduring schedules," she says.
And what makes them work? "We're from similar upbringings, so we share a similar outlook. We're kindred spirits and hearts - that's what ultimately connects us. I'm very close with his family too; we're all close."
