Muse to record new album

Chris Wolstenholme has told NME magazine that Muse will record a new album next year.

NME magazine has some good news for Muse fans after the band's bassist confirmed that it will record a new album in 2011.

Chris Wolstenholme revealed that the English rockers will get together after a well-earned break from touring to pen a sixth studio album.

"I think the most time we've had off is about six weeks in the last 12 years, so we're due a break," the star explained to the publication.

After headlining the main stage at the sold out T in the Park on Friday (July 9th) night, Muse headed to Oxygen Festival in Ireland.

Wolstenholme, who makes up one third of the band alongside Matt Bellamy and Dom Howard, explained that this year was one of his favourite trips to Scotland's Balado Air Field.

He said it was a "bonus" that it was possibly the first time he had played there without it raining, noting how the weather can have a "massive impact" at festivals.

Muse's other studio albums include Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry, Blackholes and Revelations, Absolution and The Resistance.
