Heat magazine had some news for fans of the X-Factor recently when it revealed that Konnie Huq has been chosen as the new host of the Xtra Factor.
The former Blue Peter star will take up the position vacated by Holly Willoughby and front the supplementary show.
According to the publication, the role was much sought-after due to the opportunity to work with pop mogul Simon Cowell.
It said that Cheryl Cole is a prime example of how the show's creator can have a beneficial effect on a person's star status.
Ms Huq is reportedly keen to get started in her new role and with auditions for the new season starting in Glasgow this week, she will not have long to wait.
Heat suggested that it was a little surprised by the decision to appoint Konnie, asking readers: "Are you thrilled with this choice of Xtra Factor host or, like us, is your mouth doing a little droop and your eyebrow a little raise?"
