Music fans with an Uncut magazine subscription can read Kings of Leon saying they ad-libbed the lyrics for their latest album Come Around Sundown.
KoL frontman Caleb Followill said he didn't write any of the words in advance of the recording, opting to ad lib instead.
"I didn't write lyrics," he told Uncut magazine. "I went in and ad-libbed, I free-floated everything. The closer it got to the end, I felt like, 'Man, you didn't do your job.'"
He added that he wanted to go back into the studio and redo the things but this was vetoed by fellow band members.
Caleb said he lacked confidence in the group's latest offering until his girlfriend reassured him.
"I played her one song, and when I did, she looked at me and went, 'What the f***? Why haven't you played me this? What are you scared of?'", he added.
Kings of Leon are touring the UK in December this year, with their first gig in Manchester on the 13th of the month.
