Kanye West on looking like a lunatic and taking risks

Kanye West catches up with Interview to talk about succes, life after the Taylor Swift incident and why he's not afraid of risks.

Kanye West is rarely far from the headlines – whether it’s come controversy surrounding him or just being followed with fiancée Kim Kardashian and baby daughter North.

Speaking to Interview magazine in the February issue, he says that being famous has meant he has had to create an ‘astronaut family’. “You know, becoming famous is like being catapulted into space - sometimes without a space suit,” he explains. “We've seen so many people combust, suffocate, get lost in all these different things. But to have an anchor of other astronauts and to make a little space family.”

West is often getting in trouble for comments, however he feels that no matter what he says it is twister. He tells Interview: “People are strategically trying to do things to mute my voice in some way or make me look like I’m a lunatic or pinpoint the inaccuracies in my grammar to somehow take away from the overall message of what I’m saying.”

Of course, no one can forget the incident where West interrupted Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech at the MTV Music Awards to declare that Beyoncé should have won. The backlash was pretty intense and West say that to get over it he needed “God, sex, and alcohol... a lot of sex.”

One thing’s for sure – he’s not afraid to take risks. “Only one of two things can happen: either I’m gonna be right or I’m gonna be wrong. But if you look at the past 10 years, I’ve been right,” he says.
