Jordan's new book less than half price

Katie Price's new novel has hit the bargain bins just hours after its release, Closer magazine revealed.

Katie Price's new novel Paradise spent less than a day on the shelves before retailers slashed the price.

Some outlets even cut the chic-lit book to less than half price, with Amazon reducing it from £14.99 to just £6.44, Closer magazine reported.

However, an insider attempted to put a positive spin on the move, noting that Jordan has a new autobiography due out later this year, which is relying on funding from sales of this fictional piece.

"Slashing the price pushes sales and gets people who would not normally buy it spending their money," the source said.

Meanwhile, Closer magazine noted how the novel contained many thinly-veiled parallels to the glamour model's own life.

The protagonist Angel has found new love after splitting from her husband, but pines for her ex.

Her new man's agent hates her and the pair are forced to sign a reality TV deal to help save him from financial ruin.

She is later brought face to face with her ex, evoking old feelings and ... well, let's not ruin it for the bargain hunters.

Price is now married to cage fighter Alex Reid after divorcing former hubby Peter Andre.
