Last year's X Factor winner Joe McElderry has told Closer magazine subscription holders he's pleased he came out after winning.
Even though it was a daunting experience, the singer admitted he was "glad" he did it.
"It was nerve-racking, but I'm glad I came out and I'm comfortable talking about it," he told Closer magazine.
Discussing prospective partners, Joe said finding a boyfriend wasn't a priority for him "right now".
"I'm quite shy. If I went out on a date, it would have to be very low key," he said.
He let slip to Closer magazine that, despite never having had a same-sex relationship before, he has had a gay kiss.
This year's X Factor has been rife with controversy following last weekend's judges' house round of the TV show.
Cheryl Cole chose to put through Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel despite both of them messing up their performances in the round.
