Jersey Shore cancelled after six seasons

Jersey Shore has been cancelled after six seasons on MTV. We'll sure miss those Guidos and Guidettes...

We know it’s not the most highbrow of television programmes on TV. In fact, it’s definitely one of the trashiest television shows that’s currently broadcast, but we can’t deny that the cast of Jersey Shore have kept us entertained over the last few years. We’re sure those of you with an Us Weekly magazine subscription will agree…

Now it will soon be coming to an end after it was confirmed by both MTV and the show’s cast that series 6 (which is due to air in the US on 4th October) will be the last.

The show has made stars of the cast – which includes Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino who is currently in the Celebrity Big Brother house and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi who has just had her first child, Lorenzo, with fiancé Jionni LaValle.

The stars took to Twitter to confirm the news. ?@snooki tweeted: Yes, sadly it's true. This upcoming season of Jersey Shore will be our last. But it was fricken INSANE. I will always love my roomies! Whilst @MTVsammi tweeted: ‘It's been one hell of a ride but this is just the beginning! Thank you all for your love & support throughout the seasons!! These memories will never be forgotten!!’

Whilst the series may be over, we have no doubt that we’ll still be able to follow the cast every week in our latest issues of Us Weekly.
