Hudson reveals depression over family horror

Singer and actress Jennifer Hudson has described the heartache she has suffered following the murder of three of her family members.

Star magazine has reported that actress and singer Jennifer Hudson has finally spoken out about how a family tragedy affected her life.

The US star told a VH1 documentary team that she was deeply troubled following the murder of her mother, brother and nephew.

Darnel Hudson Donerson, Jason Hudson and Julian King were killed in a brutal shooting spree in late 2008 - an event which left the talented singer out of sorts.

She told Behind the Music that she was in shock for a long time and that she eventually became clinically depressed.

"For almost two weeks straight ... [I was] inside one room with just family and friends coming in and out," Hudson described.

She also spoke about her son Little David, who has helped her cope with the ordeal, even though he reminds her of her nephew and mother.

In other news, Star magazine has spoken exclusively to Ashley Cole's new girlfriend Sara Purnell.
