Gemma Arterton 'hates fame'

Brit actress Gemma Arterton has admitted that she really isn't a fan of the fame that acting has afforded her and Closer magazine subscription holders can find out even more.

Fans of celeb gossip who have a Closer magazine subscription can find out about how Brit actress Gemma Arterton really doesn't like fame.

Gemma revealed: "I went home two weeks ago for a visit…people recognise you more when you’re from there. They idolise you and put you on a pedestal, unlike Tamara I just go and hide in the toilet."

She was speaking at a press conference for her new film Tamara Drewe, a role she said she enjoyed playing because the character is so imperfect and flawed, something Closer magazine readers may be pleased to hear since it shows just how down-to-earth Ms Arterton really is.

“I loved playing her because she’s not really the heroine…she’s very flawed and that’s what makes her interesting. She becomes successful but it doesn’t actually make her happy and that is a very current problem," said Gemma.

Tamara Drewe will be hitting screens in the UK on September 10th.

The 24-year-old actress shot to fame in 2007 in the St Trinian's film. In 2008, she played Bond girl Strawberry Fields alongside Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace.
