Frankie Cocozza makes headlines as he’s sacked from X Factor

Frankie Cocozza makes headlines yet again and this time he'll gone for good!

Forget Libya, forget student protests and forget Silvio Berlusconi – today’s big news has been all about Frankie Cocozza.

No doubt those of you with OK! magazine subscriptions are well up to date with the shenanigans of the 18 year old X Factor contestant. The whole way through the competition the paparazzi has followed around – whether it was bar-hopping or bed-hopping. It seemed the young lad’s antics had no limits.

After a hugely criticised performance on Saturday, the public seemed certain that he would be voted off on Sunday night. However, he received enough public votes to stay in the competition. But that all changed yesterday when it was announced that Frankie had been booted off for breaking a “golden rule”.

Reports this morning believe that Cocozza was bragging about having cocaine-fuelled trysts and that X Factor bosses had finally had enough of his bad boy behaviour.

Frankie has made a public apology, saying “I'd like to apologise to Gary [Barlow, mentor], my fellow contestants and everyone who has voted for me, but, as of today, I will no longer be in The X Factor. "My life during the show has gone out of control and my behaviour off stage has overstepped the rules of the competition. "I no longer deserve my place in the show, so I am therefore leaving. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me."

Judge Gary Barlow and some of his fellow contestants have taken to Twitter to voice their sadness that Cocozza will be leaving the show, and Gary in particular is disappointed that Frankie’s thrown away such a big opportunity.

The public are now left wondering if Frankie will be replaced, and if so, who by. No doubt OK! magazine will keep us informed on the latest X Factor news.
