Cheryl Cole dismayed by lack of support over 'Gamu-gate'

Cheryl Cole fans with a Closer magazine subscription can read how the singer is said to be really disappointed by the lack of support from Simon Cowell following 'Gamu-gate'.

X Factor fans with a Closer magazine subscription can read how Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole is reportedly upset with fellow judge Simon Cowell following the scandal which has been dubbed 'Gamu-gate'.

Chezza is apparently "shocked" Simon didn't help her through the ordeal, which resulted in her receiving death threats.

The singer faced public backlash after choosing not to put X Factor hopeful Gamu through to the live finals of the show; choosing instead to pick Katie and Cher who both fluffed up their judges' house songs.

A source told Closer magazine: "Cheryl's upset because she feels like Simon’s let her take all the flak over the whole Gamu situation. She thought he'd stand behind her, but he’s let her take the heat.

"Louis Walsh has even waded into the furore, nicknaming the incident 'Gamugate'. He told Cheryl he'd have chosen Gamu if she’d been in his category, which has really rubbed salt in the wounds."

The source added: "Cheryl feels Simon has hung her out to dry over choosing Cher and Katie over Gamu, even though the final decision on the matter was not just down to her."
