Animal lovers Ricky Gervais and Pamela Anderson are said to be thrilled by a decision to ban bullfighting in Spain's Catalonia region.
The pair, who have been fairly outspoken on the subject of the sport, are both dedicated to animal rights, reports OK! magazine.
Gervais, who wrote the hit TV series The Office, said he was "delighted" at the Catalonian government's decision to abolish the sport.
"I am absolutely delighted with this result. However, we mustn't get complacent. There are still many outdated practices around the world that are simply cruel."
Pamela went straight to her Twitter page to tweet to her fans about the law change.
"Some historic news to report: Catalonia has just today banned bullfighting!"
The ban will not come into effect until January 2012, but the decision followed a petition brought to the parliament which was signed by 180,000 who claim the sport is outdated and barbaric.
