Brittany Murphy's widower passes away

The widower of Brittany Murphy has died of a suspected heart attack.

OK! magazine has reported that Simon Monjack has been found dead at the house he shared with his wife Brittany Murphy until her tragic death just five months ago.

The 32-year-old star died in their Hollywood Hills home in December, with the coroner concluding that she was killed by a combination of pneumonia, an iron deficiency and "multiple drug intoxication".

It is believed that Brittany's mother Sharon found screenwriter Simon Monjack unconscious at the luxury abode and called for help.

However, reports have suggested that medics pronounced the 40-year-old dead last night, with the cause suspected to be a heart attack.

"We have detectives at the scene. They are conducting their investigation. Once we have further information, we will provide it," explained Los Angeles police sergeant Louie Lozano.

The broken-hearted Monjack had blamed his wife's death on the industry, claiming it had "blood on its hands".

Monjack wrote Factory Girls and Two Days, Nine Lives, which he also directed.
