Tesco set to open beauty salons
Anyone interested in retail who has a Marketing magazine subscription can read how Tesco is expanding by launching a new Your Beauty Salon business.
Two shop-in-shops are set to open in Leicester and Chesterfield on Monday January 31st as the supermarket giant attempts to capitalise on what it sees as being a "huge opportunity".
The salons have been designed to look like separately-branded concessions within the Tesco stores, reports Marketing magazine.
They will offer haircuts from £12.50 to customers, as well as leg-waxing services from £10.
Andrew Carpenter, Tesco beauty category manager, said: "We know beauty treatments are very popular with many people these days, and we feel the convenience of great value and quality services, from manicures to full waxing and styling, could be a success with customers," reports Marketing magazine.
Tesco's website states that around 70 per cent of its sales and profits come from the UK branches of its business.
