Superdrug set to launch loyalty card

Marketing Week magazine subscription holders can find out about Superdrug launching a loyalty card scheme.

Advertising buffs who have a Marketing Week magazine subscription can find out about Superdrug launching a new loyalty card scheme.

In a bid to narrow the gap on its rival, and market leader, Boots, the high street retailer will be launching its new initiative.

Boots has had a loyalty scheme since 1997 and it boasts 16 million members, reports Marketing Week magazine.

Dan Jarvis, Superdrug head of marketing, said the scheme has been created to help its customers earn and redeem points both online and in-store and it will also give them personalised offers.

He said "This year it's all about our customer, rewarding loyalty, offering the best everyday beauty on the high street and online and doing it in an unmistakably Superdrug style," reports Marketing Week magazine.

Superdrug, which now has Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page fronting its campaign, was founded in 1964 by the Goldstein family.

It has expanded rapidly in the UK and Ireland and now has more than 900 stores and employees more than 16,000 people.
