Anyone with a Management Today magazine subscription can help in its quest to find the best small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Britain.
The mag aims to find those which have been increasing sales, creating jobs and generally helping the UK economy in the wake of the economic crisis.
Management Today magazine has teamed up with Cisco to introduce a set of brand new Business Heroes awards, which are designed to reward the best SMEs in the country.
There are six categories in which SMEs can enter. There is one for start-ups which are less than two years old, one for those making a big splash overseas and those that have used technology well.
As well as this, there are categories for SMEs which are putting their own slant on sustainability, the entrepreneurial women juggling a career and family and last but not least, an award for SMEs which have triumphed in the face of adversity.
"It's been a tough few years for small businesses," said Management Today magazine editor Matthew Gwyther.
"But as we emerge from the downturn, small businesses and entrepreneurs have come to the rescue and form a more vital part of the economy than ever."
Recently, the five biggest banks in the UK said they would be lending SMEs £70 billion in 2011 to help them out.
