Has Twitter fan Barack Obama failed America?

The Obama debate rages on, keep up-to-date with your TIME magazine subscription.

It seems the candidates for the 2012 US Presidential Campaign have all turned it up a notch. Barack Obama has today pledged to tweet more in the run up to his electoral campaign – the social media site is really and truly taking over! It was reported this morning that the president of the United States of America plans to make the most of reaching out to his voters, and will be tweeting far more than he has been.

Whilst his election team currently have control of the account and send regular tweets, Obama has stated that he will sign off any tweets so that his followers will know it’s directly from him. His tweet read: "Welcome to a new @BarackObama. From now on, #Obama2012 staff will manage this account; tweets from the President will be signed"-BO". However, whilst he may be trying to win over the younger generation of voters, he doesn’t seem to be popular amongst his competition. If you have a TIME magazine subscription you would have read today how Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney stated that, “Barack Obama has failed America.”

TIME magazine report on Romney’s New Hampshire town meeting where he talked about how Obama has created a nation that has 16 million unemployed people, the prices of petrol and food have gone up and house prices have dropped. Romney continued: “He has been awfully European. [But] you know what? European policies don’t work there. They sure as heck aren’t going to work here. I believe in America! I believe in free enterprise. I believe in capitalism. I believe in the Constitution.”

Whether you’re Team Obama and will be following his every move on Twitter or agree with Romney, you can keep up-to-date with all of the latest news from the US election by taking out a TIME magazine subscription.
