If you've got a Time magazine subscription, you can read about Facebook teaming up with the Samaritans to help prevent suicides.
The social networking giant aims to try and make it easier for troubled individuals to access care through its website if they are feeling suicidal.
Time magazine reports Catherine Johnstone, chief executive of the Samaritans, said: "Through the popularity of Facebook, we are harnessing the power of friendship so people can get help.
She added: "We want to remind people that if a friend says that life isn't worth living, they should always be taken seriously."
Facebook will decide whether to alert authorities if something flags up a profile as being suicidal - for example, through posting comments on a forum on the site - or it will get Samaritans to make contact with the user.
Samaritans is a confidential support service for people living in the UK and Ireland.
It is accessible 24 hours a day and is open to anyone feeling distressed or in despair.
