About Military Modelling magazine:
A subscription to Military Modelling is the ideal read for anyone with a passion for historic military model figures.
Military Modelling magazine is the longest established, quality hobby title for what is the niche pastime that we now term ‘military modelling’, which from its early beginnings in the early 1930s in the UK, when modellers began to alter and repaint children’s and collectors’ lead toy soldiers into miniature works of art. The hobby of modelling military figures from these early days established itself into a popular pastime developing slowly after the Second World War into what was virtually an ‘explosion’ in the late 1960s and on into the 1970s into the hobby we know today.
The Military Modelling magazine’s content falls into two major interests, making models of military vehicles, tanks, armoured cars, and trucks from throughout history and modelling miniature figures. We push the envelope to include occasional features on battlefield helicopters and maritime coastal craft, the odd warship and submarine. There are articles in each issue on model making and studies of the real soldiers and military equipment from all periods of history.
